The Social Task Force

The neighborhood social staff accompanies residents from the beginning of the planning process throughout occupancy.

The support focuses on increasing household income through rights realization, debts settlements and employment advancement. In addition, the team works to build community leadership and participation and strengthen the neighborhood’s resilience.

General Information About the Neighborhood Today

  • Ranked 1 out of 10 on the socio-economic index of the Central Bureau of Statistics (Israel)
  • 40% of neighborhood’s residents receive income support and public support, with an average of 10 years of education
  • A mixed community, about 70% of residents are Arabic speakers and 30% are Hebrew speakers
  • The average wage in the neighborhood is NIS 2,300 per employee
  • High levels of violence and organized crime in the neighborhood, with a large number of sever violent incidents occurring daily
